Established in 1995, Holy Spirit School has a rich history of nurturing young minds and preparing them for the future. Our students consistently excel in competitions, and our faculty are recognized for their innovative teaching methods.

The situation of Shabad before the school opening.

In the year 1988 The Holy Spirit Sisters set their foot in Shabad with the aim to develop the place in the areas of health, education and social development. As we began visiting the remote villages one after another. We were surprised that the people were very illiterate and ignorant. We also found the children of school going age were either wandering aimlessly or were working in farms. The female child education was neglected during those days due to illiteracy of the parents. The elders never saw a school. There were so many social problems, people were looking for inner peace and happiness. We could hear groaning and vailing because of murder, committing suicide and quarrelling. Our health centre has also witnessed many suicide cases.

Sisters discussed all these matters and thought of extending help as much as we could. By grasping all these, we thought of giving them education to form the children as good citizens and children of God. We didn't have a plan and we completely depended upon the Lord to see His wish and plan for the school.

The first of our effort was realized when we were offered a hall at the parish premises by Rev. Fr. Devassy Sebastian the parish priest, at the same time he encouraged us to start the school. In the months of April and May of 1995 we began our plans to establish a school. Formation of Institutions were not encouraged by our founder Rev. Fr. Bernard Bendel. But he was a lover of the poor and the needy. He used to say that we have to work according to the area and people. The people were in need of a school. And so, the final decision was made by Sr. Mary Sosamma, the Regional Leader back then, on the establishment of Holy Spirit School run by our sisters to extend our services in the field of education. She had given full support for the school. We are thankful to the entire team for the positive approach towards the school.

Our service in the field of education started by 19th June 1995. The school had a humble beginning. Our group leader was Sr. Anila Edakancheril, the school in charge was Sr. Maria. Kuthiravattath and Sr Rani jyothi was the teacher. Three of them worked hand in hand with one goal and purpose for the betterment of school. Sr. maria, Sr. Anila and Sr.Ranijyothi were taking different subjects in the school. Children were so lovable and teaching was easy. Formation of character was the most important factor in the school. Even the behaviour of children was very different. Shabad area didn't know the value of education. And on the very first day only two children were present. Slowly people gained confidence and started sending their children to the school. The first batch had 24 students in total. They were of different age, caste and class. They began to mingle slowly. Parents meeting for the first time was conducted on March 1996. The parents elected P. Srinivas as Parents Representative for the school and about 48 members attended the meeting.

Second scholastic year started on 16 June 1996. By the end of April, we have started giving publicity from village to village, house to house. We went to persuade parents to send their children to school. From June coaching for teachers began.

We all felt the helping hands of Jesus on us. Everything went on well. As the years passed by more and more children turned up to join our institution. From that we understood that school was a necessary factor for the area. So, we initiated the work to set up infrastructure for the school. By 2001 we built a school and was blessed and inaugurated. Later extension works were undertaken to accommodate the increasing number of students. Today the school extends an integral formative education to many children and is recognized by Government of Telangana.
